A big weekend of the outdoors.

Post by trapper dan » Mon Feb 04, 2013 8:16 am

This past weekend we had a blast hunting fishing camping and survival. Talk about busy wow, but we got it done. With some great help from a couple of good friends. We started out doing some hog hunting and cleaning and prepping the hogs after we killed them. Then made our trek on to the river to meet up with a couple other buddies Where they were ready with the canoes and all ready to head down river. We started out daylight Friday morning (hunting) and finished up about 1 pm Sunday at the take out. Here are some pics I was pretty busy so I got what I could.

Cleaning the hogs.

What a beautiful view to wake up to.

It was cold and some of us ( can you guess who this might be ) couldn't get out of the sack early.

We tried this tarp out for heat retention but does not work like the cheap Mylar blankets. Anyways trial and error learning and we try to learn something new every trip and we did.

One of the biggest florida squirrels I've seen.

Here are some other pics.

Notice the squirrel tail tied to the back of the canoe.

There were lots of other activities but I was just to busy to get a lot of pics. It was a fun filled weekend.

Always good to see your adventures Trapper Dan! Reminds me of growing up in the Panhandle and camping with my dad. We only primitive camped and never at a camp ground. Always on a sand bar if the river was low or up on a bluff if it was high. Fun times and great memories. Thanks for bringing them back :clap :clap
