Re: Snake BIte
what you need to do is tie a rope or something to restrict the blood from flowing to the heart. Tie it about 6 inches above the bite.. Let it bleed out.. and pick up the person and carry them to help. If they walk they will pump the blood to their heart faster.. ITs all about figuring out a way to get the person to help without increasing their heart rate. This will be the life or death decision.

Re: Snake BIte
And for god sakes know what kind of snake it was. It does you no good to get the wrong anti-venom.
Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Unless the person was bitten on the neck, of course!Cr0ck1 wrote:what you need to do is tie a rope or something to restrict the blood from flowing to the heart. Tie it about 6 inches above the bite.. Let it bleed out..
Personally I just refuse to get bit!

If bitten
Stay calm (ya right)
If poisonous snake bite
Remove rings or jewelry on bitten arm or leg (toe ring?)
Don’t apply ice to site
Clean off with water
With pen or marker out line swelling around bite
If on an arm or leg wrap with cling or ace bandage sung but not tight enough to stop blood flow starting at the bite and working towards the body
Call 911
Call Florida poison center 1800-222-1222

Re: Snake BIte
+1 on the ace wrap, the venom should travel thru the lymphatic system and a tight arterial type tourniquet would make things worse and if possible/feasible ID or better yet bring the snake to the ER for a positive ID. if the snake gets you in a major artery or vein your pretty screwed, but don't give up.
