That is a nice looking trap, simple but effective design. Looks like you could put it together in an hour or two if you have all the materials.

Pardon my ignorance if this is a stupid question, but can a hog dig out from a trap like this?

you just dont want a hog to flip it..Tie it down and you should be good.
