Have you tried some melons or citrus? Just a thought.
Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Set the trap for a few days with the door either out or tied open. Put a trail of feed from the outside leading to the inside. Let them get comfortable going in before you set it.
Also if you have to get in the trap to set it, spray the trap down with scent killer when you come out

Also what type of floor does the trap have? If it has a mesh wire floor you HAVE to put something on the bottom, like leaves, palm fronds, or dirt. If they feel wire on their feet they wont go in

Hope this helps some

Also take a machete and cut brush, and brush the trap in a bit. It seems to make them feel more comfortable

Sometimes the trap shy ones need to be caught with dogs.

Put diesel on the corn, it is a love potion!
