Anybody sell your wild hogs? If you do, where?

Post by CWFAsian1129 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 11:29 pm

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who knows where to sell wild hogs.

Because I usually dont eat all of them or sometimes I catch multiple of them with my trap and I just hand them out to my buddies.

Is there any possible place that I can sell those pigs? If there is, I need to keep them alive right?

Thank you guys

The end of this link should tell you what you need to know http://myfwc.com/conservation/you-conse ... /#traphogs . There are places you can donate the meat to. http://www.nrahq.org/hunting/hungry_nat_list.asp

You can sell them "live" to one of the high fence hog hunting places down there

i wouldnt mind coming to visit you and help you with some hog meat, i wouldnt wanna really pay for it, but would be happy to help you trap, hunt, and dress, and i promise i would put the meat to good use on my smoker. I understand if this is not an option.

Since i started curing it i cant keep it. Every one wants it. Neighbors running out to get hogs just to have me show him how to cure it and make the whole hog into ham and bacon. Yes i cure every part but the tenderloins. Back straps are great for Canadian style bacon. Its just time and refrigerator room I need to do the ones i shoot.

How many and how big of ones do you have? What are you asking? Usually you can't hardly give them away.

well the big problem is i do not have any kind of separate refrigerator to put all the meats.

The usual size of pigs that I catch are from 100-150lb (mostly close to 150lb). The biggest one I've caught was 180lb sow. The place never had more than 8 pigs at a time but according to my trail camera, there seems to be different groups of hogs show up everytime.

I haven't been out there in a while but I've recently received a feeder from my buddy as a bday and christmas present so Im gonna set it up out there tomorrow morning.

Once I set up a feeder out there, I'll check how many hogs show up and .30-06, depends on how many hogs out there, I'll let you know and see how it goes. Its a golf course community so we cannot use a firearm. Only a bow or a trap lol

You can't sell them if you kill them. They have to be alive.

My Dad loves to smoke some porkers.... So any time you need to thin out the freezer or get rid of some of 'em i'm sure he'll take 'em off your hands.. Our freezer empty since leaving the hog infested lands of Perry, FL :bbq
