If it's the synthetic stock? I would not give more than $300. Tops. If it has a scope, it was probably a package, and the scope adds zero value(unless its a better name scope)
Need more details

Is it a SPS, ADL or something else.
An ADL would be worth about $325-$350 and SPS would be around $400-$425.
Value of scope could be anything from $0 or more depending on the specifics.

X2! If it has a synthetic stock its likely an ADL, which is a Walmart special as noted by Carlos. They can be had for 300.00 if you wait and are patient until you find one priced accordingly. I have had a few ADL 700s and can attest the quality of a BDL or CDL is much much better. I have one of each and they shoot and carry extremely well.

I would get more info on the scope as well. A Nikon could mean a lot of different models. And all honestly would not be a selling/buying point for me personally, as I have yet to see a Nikon scope that impressed me

you're killing me. just once could you guys ask for help, BEFORE you run out to W-W. there are members here with 100's of years of combined gun experience, just dying to help a new/young/inexperienced member find a better gun at a lower price.

Last year I picked up a 6 month old 700 ADL with camo plastic stock in 308 Winchester and Leupold VXII 3-9X40mm scope mounted with Warne mount/rings for $450. Real good price in my book.

I asked the guy why he was selling it so cheap and he said because the rifle was not accurate. He admited that he couldn't get groups under 6" from 100 yards. I took it home and took the rifle apart and took the scope off. I cleaned everything, lubed as needed and put it back together. I took it out to the range with couple boxes of Federal Match ammo and within 12 rounds I had it shooting just over 2" group at 200 yards. Now about 100 rounds later it shoot even better. I've shot 3 hogs with that rifle and every one was one shot instant kills.

I have 8 Remington 700 rifles in my safe and every one is very accurate and reliable. Most will require some work on the trigger to maximize accuracy but they are all mechnically accurate. The SPS, BDL, CDL and other models are all more expensive than the ADL but it's only cosmetic difference... metal finish, no iron sight, plastic trigger guard and blind magazine. I frequently hear people say that ADL is not as good mechnically as BDL or other models but this is not true. For long time some long range shooters prefered the ADL's blind magazine feature as they felt it offered stiffer action.

I wondered about the adl comments as well about them being inferior or lower quality. I had one chambered in .308 and thought very highly of it. It was probably a 30 year old rifle. Very smooth, looked good and shot very well. Wish I still had it but traded it on a Winchester mod 96 which I am happy to have acquired. I know some of you buh and sell more guns in a month than most of us buy or sell in a lifetime, however some deals are time sensitive. I appreciate all the info I gather on here.

IMHO the trigger and action of a BDL or CDL 700 is better, smoother, and slicker than any ADL 700 Walmart gun I've ever owned, besides having a good piece of walnut, clean finish and all steel construction.
