im going to bridgemasters this afternoon. whats a good "ROD" to look for? some good brands?

mitchell spinning reel on a 7.5' medium action graphite rod 10lb ande mono fast tip.

i got my eye on a nice one there i may get it.

bass pro extreme. 20lb powerpro braid with mono backing on a quantum IM6 7'rod. \

I think we all owe it to ourselves to try it with our wives tonight to see how true this is.
Not sure if I would rather be locked up with a 12 ft shark or helping dogs pull down a big ole hog.

Red Bone rods are a good brand. Not sure where you can get them anymore, but they are great for FW and SW up to and including cobia fishing.

You might want to explain the importance of this test to her before you start, or you may be missing the end of your rod by the time it is over. Always dip a toe before plunging in. Just to test the water.

ive fished all my life i have alot of rods i just have to take one back and i was wanting to know some good brand of spinning rods. i know how to test good rods. i just need names

I like the calico jack rods made by southbend they are exactly like the redbone rods except for the blank 1 is an im6 the other is a im7. All other components are the same (grips guides and reel seat) hold them up side by side and and they are identical except for the color. And they are half the price. I also have an Ande rod I got at wal mart for like $30 that has held up pretty good its a med/hvy spinning rod 7'6".

I have a few Star rods and have no complaints.

You can't kill an Ugly Stik either.
