What to plant in shade?

Post by Iluv2hunt » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:30 pm

I want to plant the side of this little road. This is one of my personal spots in the lease, so noone will be driving it. Figured I can run the disc down one side and throw something down. Not looking for anything too fancy. Just a little attractant. Its in a hammock, so its filtered shade/sun all day

Here is one of my other spots. Gonna disc it and plant it too

I dont know much about food plots, as i only hunt public land but seems there should be something out there that you could plant there. Clover or alfalfa maybe?

looking online i see that chicory, buckwheat and ryegrasses do well in shade as well. i dont know how well the ryegrass would do here till winter. There are also some companies out there that sell shade mixes, tecomate, plotspike, but i amnot sure how well the will do here.
