Your feeder will be in the dirt next time you check it

That feeder has been knocked over bunches of times.. Last time they messed it up pretty good.

This is an area for hogs, gonna just do soybeans in my deer area and hopefully the bears will leave it alone

You will read mixed reports on soybeans. I hunted 2 years in Panama City and 4 years in Newport. The bears in the PC lease would scratch the soybeans out of gravity feeders but didn't seem to eat them. The bears in my Newport lease ate soybeans like it was candy.

Steel pole option 1, or stop feeding option 2. They will keep coming no matter what.

if they have plenty to eat soy beans or low on the list.if things get tight they will eat them. so save on feeder repairs and feed you need to hang it from a tree real high,or quit feeding for awhile.there aint much a bear wont eat

That is the reason I don't have a feeder out in my place.
One of my neighbor told me that about 4 years ago he had a feeder in his place and a bear came around. He said he had to remove his feeder as the bear was damaging it regularly. After the feeder was removed that bear continued to come around for few months.
Only feeding I do on my place is to dig a hole with post digger and put some corn in it and cover it back up with dirt. Hogs will find the hole and spend hours digging out the corn. I only do this while I'm up there and hogs have never taken more than 2 nights to find it. When I leave there is no more corn until I come back following weekend.

Bears seem to be lazy eaters. If they have a feeder they can destroy, they will camp out. If they find one they can shake the pole or climb the tree and slap the feeder, they will camp out around it. If they have to really work at it, they might pass thru but won't hang around too long. When you get one camping out, you can forget killing a deer. They eat corn and puke it back up, and nothing will eat it. Weird even hogs won't even eat the bear puked corn. And they piss all around the feeder. Smells like a urinal at Daytona speedway and runs every animal for a mile off

Wow:-/. You've got some serious bears.

We had one but he disappeared. Not sure if a scumbag neighbor poached him or he moved on. He was there every night. I'm up in Floral City.
