the temp always seems to drop another 10 degrees or so just before the sun comes up, windy too yesterday. a good base layer of something thin/light that wicks well ( the way I sweat ), then a thicker layer of fleece or wool then a windbreaker,a good hat and I'm set. can't stand to wear gloves though, hands in pockets or a muff with heat paks, in real cold for me.

almost hate to admit this but went to my nearby wma to hunt the am and had the place to myself, I mean TOTALY to myself, they are closed til 12/26/10, DUH! should look at those regs once in a while. dumbazz fo sho. and I would love to take you up on that offer Frank, a few sips of my tonic and you won't need that heater, but MOM is laying the guilt trip on pretty heavy about coming to see her 4 1/2 hours from me in the opposite direction to you.

I mean it, am going to get Lamehawk out there too, doe week for us is Dec 25-Jan 1 and there are a hog or 2 and turkeys too. This is a small spot on my 140 acres, there are several other places without the shooting house to hunt and plenty of stalk and hunt areas.

I'm camped at the green swamp since saturday. Only very cold day was yesterday which went down to the low 30s. I gave up at 2:00 . Today is not bad.

Why is it useless to go hunting without a doe permit? No bucks around?
