hahaha.. thats gangster.. seems like they might get clogged... if you use the wildgame feeders you can adjust how far the spinplate i from the feed. that one might work..

No, but I shovel them up off my driveway and toss them out. Yankees shovel snow, us crackers shovel acorns

I HAVE TWO 300# CAPSITY GRAVITY FEEDERS WITH THE FOUR HOLE HEADS THAT I'M GOING TO FILL WITH ACORNS BUT WAS WONDERING ABOUT THE BEARS. DO YOU THINK THEY EAT ACORNS?

you could make a gravity/bump feeder they would work in. I gave a big azz one to Carlos, if he's not using it all you'd have to do is drill the drop holes bigger.

I think they would go moldy on you in that kind of #'s, plus if using a spinner if you cut the holes big enough for acorns you'd never be able to use it for corn again. JMO

Bears love acorns. My last lease we had very few oaks, and the bears would climb up in what oaks we had and break the limbs out to get to them before they dropped

Acorns work great for feeding,I did it a lot this year. I don't know if they will spin out of a feeder but the deer ate everyone I put out with the corn. I filled a 1 gal bucket 1/2 full in about an hr. Lot of work picking them up out of the yard.

My yard is smack full of em. Best way I could find to get em up is to rake em up like leaves onto a 4' x 4' piece of 1/4"x1/4" wire cloth with 3 sides bent up a few inches. Just load em up on there, and shake it a bit to separate the acorns from the dirt and junk, then dump them into big Rubbermaid trashcans with lids for storage and transfer. I stored em that way for 2 weeks in the can with no mold whatsoever. Dumped em out on my foodplot on the lease, and the deer and hogs ate up over 200# in a single night. Not a bear track one.

Soybeans are the remedy if the acorns clog the feeder. They are planning to ban the use of corn on our lease next yr, is this why you are asking Dave? I hope they do, less competition for me to deal with LOL

Soybeans get expensive though. $16-$20 a bag adds up quick. We had 15 feeders of soybeans this year and it ain't cheap. And the bears still stayed at the feeders. The guys that that just hand spread corn lightly didn't have the bears we did on the feeders full of soybeans.
