lease questions

Post by swissk31 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 9:02 pm

I have not had a lease ever and I have a few questions.
I hear one fella talking about a lease agreement that lasts three years, so you have time to plant and manage the game before losing it to the next person. I am not talking about the recreational use places FWC has. This is private land. That's a lot to lock yourself into.
This is not normal is it?

Never heard of a 3 yr lease other than the rec use land you mentioned. I'm sure they would like you to do it but what if you end up not liking the place or something in life changes and you can no longer enjoy the property? Not for me.

I would be leery of a 3 year lease, unless you knew the owner really well. Properties can get sold at the drop of a hat, and then you have a legal battle on your hand

If he loses the land the first year, good luck getting your money back.
