Post by strunes » Wed Jan 09, 2013 8:26 pm

Do any of you guys belong or know anyone who belongs to either of these clubs? I am looking to join another club that is closer to home, but I cannot find any info on these clubs. Thanks for your help....

I use to belong to a club that was next to Hickory Ford hunting club (Last year) it is a good run club as far as I know from everything that I've heard and it is a dog ran club. Gads Bay hunting club is a still hunt club and has been down sized due to selling some of the property and still keeps the same number of members. A person told me that it was unstable and they didn't know if more land would be sold. They both have size limits but Gads Bay is strickter from what I've heard. I think that here is more deer in Gads Bay but both have good numbers of deer and hogs.

I have heard from a good source that both have a very long wait list to get into. Usually someone has to die before a membership opens up

That would explain why they don't advertise.

There is also a DSO hunt club just North of those two. It's on the left before you get into Chiefland. captain Billy with Deep South Outfitters runs it. It is a low member/per acre still hunt lease and pricey, but a good one from what I hear if you can afford it. I have his cell somewhere if you want it I will dig it up, or else he has a website

I paid for one of his dove leases one year and I think two birds flew over what he called a field. He ran a disk thru cow pasture one disk wide and one pass and tossed some seed in it. It was the sorriest thing I have ever seen.
