Anyone ever hear of Dip-N-Vat hunting club in Old Town
I just toured the place and it looked pretty good. Its 15000 acres right on SR349 across the street from lower suwannee wildlife refuge. They do run dogs, but only in the northern section according to one of the members.
It is what it is!

Yes,this is the dipnvat club I remember. It use to be perpetual wma. What are the dues these days? I was a member of crane bay that bordered it,this was over 20 years ago. There still some hogs in there?

They told me the only dog hunt the northern section, because too many dogs where killed when the ran onto the road in the narrow western part of the club.davedirt wrote:I was a member about 5 years back.............Bow and BP your OK, after that you better like dog hunters because there will be two hundred trucks running around that place every week end.

Yah, rite and I have some lake front land for sale in the desert.................................They run that place hard and all the game runs over to lower sawanee across 49.
Me and a buddy joined that club and bernt island twenty + years ago and those guys hut the shizz out of that place with dogs. Did you ask how many members? Last time I was at a club meeting there had to be over 150. And dues were only 625.00 . I had a feeder and stand in a bayhead and opening morning I hear a truck and this guy has backed in to my feeder from the other road and dumps the box on my feeder. Now there is another dipnvat club up in Perry and it buts up to Spring creek WMA and that is a decent club.

Yeah Dave, that was the club I almost joined. The one in Perry.

That's the deal with dog clubs, they're not set up for still hunters. Strunes, there are bunches of leases full of hogs for still hunters only. I just seen where misalot is advertising again. Most dog hunters have stands for bow and BP season, but opening morning its dog season and that's what they do.

I have a club in Perry that has tons of hog, but hardly any deer. Does anyone know of a club closer to Hernando county that is half way decent? Old town is only about an hour from the house so it is very quick trip for me.

If you want the short commute you'll have to deal with it. 15k acres is pretty big - as stated above I would see how many members they have. If there is pleny of sign, hunt the bow and bp and then keep you a stand somewhere in a big block if possible. I've sat the dog hunt areas plenty of times and most of the game I've seen DID NOT have a pack of hounds behind them.
