late in the season

Post by skull » Mon Sep 19, 2011 11:33 am

how bad will the gator hunting get the later in the season you hunt.

I cant make it back down till 2 week of October and I am hopping its not to late.

I know my orange lake tags will be hard to fill do to pressure but I have my tag for Griffin and for Crescent.
Crescent I haven't been so I don't know what pressure they been under but Griffin I know I can get on gator's If they are still active..

If it gets cold will that shut them down? and is that a possibility ? how is the hunting in Oct. ?

thanks for your help any info would be appreciated

George

The record alligator was taking on the last day of the hunt last year. It depends on cold fronts and such. A lot of spooked gators this year but it should still be doable. More then likely though you might be pulling small gators unless you have good patience and a bit of luck.
Not sure if I would rather be locked up with a 12 ft shark or helping dogs pull down a big ole hog.

Ditto I would go just to fill the tags and get the meat that I had allready payed for. I was a Orange last friday and took 2 more they were healthy gators but still didnt break 9'.

Well... I know I am hopeful about this eve. I hope to fill my last tag tonight. :toast
