Can you run your trigger line like this? A pulley on right side, and a clip on the left so you can set your height and then it pulls free.

Does the door set on top of that flat bar?Can you take a picture of the top from the back side so we can see how it holds the door up?

Yes it rests on the bar. And the bar is on a sealed bearing so it takes very little to set off the trap.

Soured corn, soaked in fish grease, along with a bucket full of sliced apples, and an old can of sliced peaches from the pantry did the trick.....
