buck lake wma

The deer know deer seasons over.

Hog hunt this month. So at 50 yards out come 2 does and less than 5 minutes later a 6 point walks out. I walking down a closed road and they never looked my way, I was in the middle of the rd. It would of been an easy kill with my 06 in hand. but they were not on the menu. First legal buck I have seen this year.

Gunboy and I hunted that place 2 years in a row for Hog and experienced the same thing. Busting through the brush around some of those lakes looking sign and would walk right up on the deer. They would just sit there and look at us, not even trying to run. I am sure they heard us coming from 100 yards away. I understand a lot of people run dogs & feeders around the perimeter of that WMA but you couldn't tell by the way the does were acting.
