I do the same thing with my 45xd clips. Fill them up and leave them loaded for awhile will soften the spring a little.

In maine the woods are so thick that you have to use bait for bears. The guys that run dogs for bears there have to start them on bait barrels most of the time. If you hunt with outfitters i can give ya some good ones. If your a DIY with your own dogs, 90% of the land up there is owned by the timber...
