Why don't you get setup and start reloading 6.8's for yourself. It's real easy to get started. I load for the 6.8 and can help point you in the right direction.

Right before Christmas I picked up a M&P15 in 6.8 along with about 250 rounds and everything I need to start reloading for it including a 4 position press. Figure I'll start looking into reloading for myself after this turkey season.

Not really required for pistol rounds, but dial caliper and primer pocket tool. Seems pretty complete though.

You will need:
6.8 spc dies
A shell holder for the 6.8spc (Lee #21, RCBS#19, Hornady#12)
A dial caliper, get a metal one, the plastic ones are junk.
A case trimming tool (the lee setup works fine, get the cutter head, shell holder and length gauge)
Case lube (Lee wax lube, RCBS Slick Case both work fine)
Rifle primers... Remington 6.8 cases are large rifle, SSA and Hornady are small rifle primers.
.277 cal bullets... 85 to 12o grs in weight....
Powder... AA2200, RL10X, H322, and H335 all work....
Buy the book ,,, ABC's of reloading...http://www.amazon.com/The-ABCs-Of-Reloa ... 1440213968

It won't take long to figure out the hand press is ok, but you will need a bench mounted press.
A process and tools to cleaning your brass is plus.

lol, the harbor reloading guy is a piece of work all right but he has a great selection of stuff, generally. like golf it takes a day to learn and a lifetime to master. if you can load for 45's and 6.8's everything else should be a breeze. make the first round you load a dummy with no powder or primer, to get the overall length (oal) correct and to see if it cycles, feeds/ejects thru the action. imo bolt actions are the best to reload for due to the best accuracy potential and strongest ejectors. eventualy you will load for every gun but 22 lr and be able to afford to spend lot's of time at the range. congrats and good luck.

even harbor reloading supplies are dwindling, he is rationing things, and makes you feel like an idiot, BUT I think I put his kid thru college. Hernando sportsman club has a good selection of powders and plenty of primers (right now) at a fair price. try Natchez reloading, or Graf's online.

What kind of brass do you have? - large primer/small primer?

I like the Hornady dies over the Lee dies, but I do use Lee dies and they work fine. I use the Lee factory crimp die on all my self loaders.

Are you really 69?

I'm sorry, I hope I did not offend you asking your age. It was meant to be a "good for you for getting into reloading" statement.
I'm getting to be an old fart myself and tend to just blurt it out with out thinking about it.......

I have the Lee and Hornady 6.8 dies....I like the Hornady best, but the Lee works ok

Think about you look at ordering a box or two of these....hurry they go fast.
That site also has other good deals on reloading equipment so keep going back to it.

45 acp can be found with large pistol and small pistol primers

rifle and pistol primers do not interchange (different sizes)
primers sizes come in:

rifle - large, small, large magnum, small magnum, bench rest, military spec large and small

pistol - large, small, large magnum, small magnum

(large and small magnum primer are the same size as regular large and small primers)
