New guy from the tother side of the pond. In yorkshire

Post by woodyapex » Tue Oct 23, 2012 5:27 pm

Hey yup
Every one new to the site but not hunting forums or hunting .
I shoot around Yorkshire uk and travel as often as money permits, usually pig hunting although hunted kangaroo , civit cats , geese , ducks , deer and most other things legal .
I've two working pit bull cross dogs with pet passports that have also travelled to European mainland hunting deer , fox's and I think you guys call them jack rabbits ? Hares over here .
I've also had a bowtech stryke zone 380 since release and just my luck owned one of the first for the limbs to fail on . ( if any of you know the issues ) all sorted now .
That's more or less my life story .
Ill post some pictures of my travels in my second post if any of you fancy a look.

woodyapex, you will probably fit right in with this bunch of "rednecks" from Florida. Your 2nd picture removes all doubt, as you have a deer hanging inside the house! I've got to show my wife that picture, maybe she won't feel so bad about turning her kitchen into a cutting room. Welcome to the forum! Treefarmer

Welcome....do you hunt archery only? We have some good friends who live outside Bath and have told me how hard it is to own firearms across the pond.

Welcome to the site! We like pictures :cheers I have friends who live in Bristol. They don't approve much of my guns but are always keen to take a photo in front of my fireplace where they can get a good picture of my smoke pole that hangs there. :rolleyes

The photo with the deer in the kitchen is giving me ideas...

Hi tcr
I'm no where near bath . I'm up north .
It is illegal to hunt with bows and crossbows in the uk maybe more to do with the ignorance of the government and maybe the supposed lack of open spaces . But as most people on this forum it is a very effective, safe , quiet and skillful way of hunting .
So bollocks to the government .
It is as it happens now illegal to hunt with dogs in the uk .
But I do happen to have two pit bull / greyhounds
Father and daughter . That if it was not illegal would be out catching jack rabbits , foxes , deer , rats and rabbits .
But I think my dogs have forgot its illegal .
So bollocks to tony Blair ( ex prime minister that made it illegal )
I do also do a fair bit of shooting with a theoben rapid 7 air rifle ( leagal ) and a semi auto escort magnum 12 g . Also legal
My theory if i hunt responsibly then what harm is it doing ? Apart from the odd dead animal ;)
