Pine Needle Tea
I remember reading this a long time ago, but never actually tried it until today.
Take a cup of boiling water. Throw in a tablespoon of chopped green pine needles (cut off any brown stuff). When the needles sink it's ready to drink.
If you're a sweet tea kinda guy add sugar, though in the woods I don't know you'll.have sugar.
Guys... I was expecting this to taste like straight up turpentine...
It's actually really good. It has a unique flavor that's very hard to describe, but if I had to, I'd say minty apple.
If for some reason you're stuck in the woods.. This stuff has five times the vitamin C as fresh Orange juice and lots of vitamin A too.

Yup, it's not bad. I'll chew on 'em too.

I've heard about this but never tried it. Lord knows I have plenty of pines in my yard. I may just give it a try. I've seen Survivorman do it with juniper, he always seems to enjoy it. :>)

Re: Pine Needle Tea
I read about this before but never tried it because I thought I remember reading it had to be a certain kind of pine needle.
