Thats adrenalin. I always use 22 stingers and they do the trick. I will be curios to see if your meet trick works on an old boar. Let me know.

He musta had a fever. I had to get another bag of ice already. That is a lot of meat to cool off
Seriously, they will hold body heat for a while. But he was cleaned and in the cooler within 2 hours

nice job, glad to see the hard work paid off for you. too bad you didnt have a scale. dont be fooled by how tough the really are, i shot a 90 lb. hog with a .45 from about 3 feet away, he dropped, i came back 15 minutes later to take care of him and he was up walking around like nothin happened, the only way i could figure out which hog i had shot was because of the blood trickling from his chin. i shot that hog 3 times at extremely close range before he finally stayed down. each shot dropped him, but he got back up the first two times, he had 3 holes that i could poke my finger in to that were all between the eyes within 2 or 3 inches of eachother, a couple inches above his eyes, kind of like bowling ball holes. that was a pen raised hog as well, i did not expect it to take that much.

yea allen gave me the stingers.. i was stubborn and used cheap ammo and it almost cost allen his face to that hog and possibly my leg if it got out of the bushes and got at us.. I will no longer go cheap on ammo. actually that amo was given to my son for his birthday and its for his marlin youth .22.. they were winchesters but just didnt cut it today. allen gave me some stingers and thats all i will use for now on.

It's no fun if you dont get chared or have some drama. You should try some dog hunting it can get fun if the dog releases to soon.

it will come. you could always use a .410 slug, those arent too loud. they would do the trick on a hog.

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Back in my poaching days we used 22 mags with a baby nipple over the end of the barrel. You cut a x in the end so the bullet comes out easy. It was the best redneck silencer. We shot more stuff and you never knew were we where.
