Post by dkitchen » Wed Nov 03, 2010 1:11 pm

Here are a couple pics of the black tail my brother bagged sunday morning.
It was the last day of season and he had been chasing this guy for a few days

I understand that's one of the hardest deer to hunt. Congrats to your brother!

Those of you who are familiar with black tail's know that they dont get much bigger than this guy.
My family has lived and hunted WA for the last 40 years and we have taken some big deer, but this is the biggest black tail yet.

My uncle took a MOnster muley this year. I dont have pics though

Here are some pics of a Muley my cousin took during archery season. Where he got this my uncle has taken his muley for the last 4 years running I took a big muley out of their 2 years ago and this guy.

A blacktail is a sub species of a muley aunt it? That's really a nice buck. What is the difference between a black tail and a mule deer?

There what you would consider to be cousins I guess, other than that though there arent alot of similarities.

The rack on the blacktail looks like a white tail rack, maybe a Mt goat got raped by man bear pig and started this unique species.

Nice buck! I hunted Blacktail in S.E. Alaska a couple of years, and on Kodiak island 1 year. I really found them pretty predictable in that area of the country. I can tell you this that is an excellent rack for a Blacktail if it was killed in AK. Up there an 8pt. was a trophy, and there racks were not any bigger than an average young 8pt. scrub bucks that we kill around here.

Great job on the buck's. What part of Washington are they in? I spent about 10 years in Tacoma. we also have a few more members that have lived out that way.
